Zoran Djindjic Foundation

The Zoran Djindjic Foundation was established on December 15, 2003, shortly after the tragic assassination of the first democratically elected Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, with the aim of preserving the memory of his life and work. The initiative was led by his closest associates and friends, and the Foundation is managed by Ms. Ružica Pavlović Đinđić.

Through numerous projects and activities, the Foundation promotes the values for which Dr Zoran Djindjic stood — the development of democracy, political culture, and scientific thought — with a special focus on education, regional and international cooperation, and social progress.

Today we remember Zoran Djindjic as a Prime Minister who had a vision of a modern, democratic and European Serbia, but also as the Mayor of Belgrade, a professor, a thinker and a man who believed that society can and must change, courageously, responsibly and with a clear orientation towards the future.
Apply now for the first cohort of the “Echoes of Democracy” political school, launched by the Presidential Center Stevo Pendarovski. This unique program empowers young professionals from the Western Balkans with the skills, knowledge, and regional networks needed to strengthen democratic resilience and actively shape the European future of the region. Funded by the Open Society Foundations – Western Balkans and supported by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (Skopje) in association with the Zoran Djindjic Foundation, the project offers a rare opportunity to engage, connect, and lead.
On 28 January 2026, the Zoran Djindjic Foundation organised a panel discussion marking 25 years since the formation of the first democratically elected Government of the Republic of Serbia, led by Dr Zoran Djindjic.
This year, the Regional School of Political Philosophy “Dr Zoran Djindjic” took on a special format. Instead of traditional lectures, it brought together alumni from previous generations across the region and transformed into an intensive political-crisis simulation.
